About us
In 2013, the co-founder of SAP, Klaus Tschira, established the nonprofit Heidelberg Laureate Forum Foundation (HLFF) with the goal of fostering mathematics and computer science. The HLFF organizes the annual Heidelberg Laureate Forum (HLF), a networking conference where 200 outstanding young researchers in mathematics and computer science interact with the recipients of the most renowned prizes in the fields. Another primary focus of the Foundation is turning the public’s attention toward mathematics and computer science, not only to awaken but to strengthen their interest through events and exhibitions held in their Mathematics Informatics Station (MAINS). The HLFF is funded by the German foundation Klaus Tschira Stiftung (KTS), which supports the natural sciences, mathematics and computer science, while striving to increase their appreciation. Rommel ➡️ Neurodiversity is a key aspect of human cognitive diversity, encompassing conditions such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia, sensory processing sensitivity, and giftedness. As workplaces aim to support innovation and inclusion, leaders need to better understand how neurodivergent individuals experience their surroundings—and how to create spaces where they can succeed. In our next coffee break with Judith, we will explore: 🔹What is neurodiversity, and why does it matter for leadership? 🔹How do work and living environments impact neurodivergent individuals? 🔹What practical strategies can leaders use to support neurodiverse teams? Through clear case studies and research-based insights, we will explore real-world approaches to create workplaces where all neurocognitive styles are valued. About Judith: Dr. Judith B. Rommel is a multidisciplinary scientist with a background in Biology, Mathematics, and Chemoinformatics. Her current research focuses on neurodiversity and housing needs. Currently based at DHBW Stuttgart, she leads initiatives at the intersection of neurodiversity, technology, and leadership—most notably, the nonprofit housing platform Lilevi. She is also the founder of BZND – Center for Neurodiversity e.V. Her book "Neurodiversity, Sensory Processing Sensitivity, and Housing: From Applied Research to Social Innovation" will be published by Springer in 2025. Meet the recipients of the 2024 ACM A.M. Turing Award, Andrew Barto and Richard Sutton! They are recognized for developing the conceptual and algorithmic foundations of reinforcement learning - one of the most important approaches for creating intelligent systems. Barto is Professor Emeritus of Manning College of Information and Computer Sciences, UMass Amherst at University of Massachusetts Amherst . Sutton is a Professor of Computer Science at the University of Alberta , a Research Scientist at Keen Technologies, and a Fellow at Alberta Machine Intelligence Institute (Amii) . In a series of papers beginning in the 1980s, Barto and Sutton introduced the main ideas, constructed the mathematical foundations, and developed important algorithms for reinforcement learning.
