About us
In 2013, the co-founder of SAP, Klaus Tschira, established the nonprofit Heidelberg Laureate Forum Foundation (HLFF) with the goal of fostering mathematics and computer science. The HLFF organizes the annual Heidelberg Laureate Forum (HLF), a networking conference where 200 outstanding young researchers in mathematics and computer science interact with the recipients of the most renowned prizes in the fields. Another primary focus of the Foundation is turning the public’s attention toward mathematics and computer science, not only to awaken but to strengthen their interest through events and exhibitions held in their Mathematics Informatics Station (MAINS). The HLFF is funded by the German foundation Klaus Tschira Stiftung (KTS), which supports the natural sciences, mathematics and computer science, while striving to increase their appreciation. Education, research and science communication are the foundation’s three primary areas of focus. https://www.hlf-foundation.org/imprint.html https://www.hlf-foundation.org/privacy-policy.html

The Abel Prize is an international prize awarded by the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters to one or more outstanding mathematicians, and is often considered, along with the Fields Medal, the “Mathematician’s Nobel Prize". This year’s Abel Prize has been awarded to Masaki Kashiwara for work on representation theory – but what is it, and why is it important? Congratulations, see you at the 12th HLF💙
I’m humbled to be selected as one of the young researchers invited to the prestigious Heidelberg Laureate Forum Foundation. This forum unites recipients of esteemed awards in mathematics and computer science (the Abel Prize, ACM Turing Award, Fields Medal, and others) with selected early-career researchers from across the globe. It offers a week of engaging interdisciplinary exchange, connecting young researchers with scientific pioneers and drawing on the expertise of the attending laureates. My studies focus on human-agent interaction systems that quantify complex and semi-qualitative decisions and help find near-optimal solutions for them. These decisions need to blend quantitative analysis with human values and qualitative judgment, such as trade-offs between rigor and empathy. I am grateful to my mentors (especially Reyhan Aydogan) and collaborators for their support along my research. I look forward to representing our MAS community at HLF and returning with new inspiration and ideas to tackle future challenges. #HeidelbergLaureateForum #MultiAgentSystems
