About us
In 2013, the co-founder of SAP, Klaus Tschira, established the nonprofit Heidelberg Laureate Forum Foundation (HLFF) with the goal of fostering mathematics and computer science. The HLFF organizes the annual Heidelberg Laureate Forum (HLF), a networking conference where 200 outstanding young researchers in mathematics and computer science interact with the recipients of the most renowned prizes in the fields. Another primary focus of the Foundation is turning the public’s attention toward mathematics and computer science, not only to awaken but to strengthen their interest through events and exhibitions held in their Mathematics Informatics Station (MAINS). The HLFF is funded by the German foundation Klaus Tschira Stiftung (KTS), which supports the natural sciences, mathematics and computer science, while striving to increase their appreciation. Education, research and science communication are the foundation’s three primary areas of focus. https://www.hlf-foundation.org/imprint.html https://www.hlf-foundation.org/privacy-policy.html

Glad to have you at the 12th HLF! 💙
I’m humbled to be invited once again as alumni to the 12th Heidelberg Laureate Forum Foundation (HLF) — an extraordinary event where scientific dialogue takes center stage, bringing together 200 outstanding young researchers in mathematics and computer science from around the world. The HLF is unlike any other forum. For one unforgettable week, it creates a space where the brightest early-career minds engage in deep, meaningful conversations with laureates of the Fields Medal, Abel Prize, Turing Award, ACM Prize in Computing, Nevanlinna Prize, and IMU Abacus Medal. When I first attended the 5th HLF in 2017 during my PhD at the University of Oslo and OsloMet – Oslo Metropolitan University, I was struck by the openness, generosity, and depth of the exchanges. Returning now as an alumnus, I’m especially looking forward to the intellectual energy that defines this forum — and to both learning from and contributing to conversations that shape the future of our fields. HLF doesn’t just celebrate achievement — it fosters genuine, intergenerational dialogue through masterclasses, workshops, and open conversations. It’s a place where ideas are shared, challenges are explored, and collaborations are born — all in the spirit of science and curiosity. I’m incredibly grateful for this opportunity and excited to reconnect with the HLF community, meet this year's brilliant cohort, and be inspired all over again. #HeidelbergLaureateForum #Mathematics #ComputerScience #ScientificDialogue #FieldsMedal #TuringAward #AbelPrize #ACMPrizeInComputing #NevanlinnaPrize #IMUAbacusMedal

Congratulations! 💙
Woke up to the most exciting email yesterday(exactly 13 months after the email that notified me of my acceptance into Oxford!). The Heidelberg Laureate Forum Foundation selects 200 researchers from all academic stages(Undergraduate, Masters, PhD and Postdocs) specializing in mathematics and computer science and offers them the unique opportunity to learn from and interact with some of the greatest minds in these fields. I am honored and deeply humbled to be in the pool of selected young researchers from across the world for the 12th Heidelberg Laureate Forum(HLF) this year. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to meet laureates who have been awarded the #FieldsMedal, the #AbelPrize, the #ACMPrizeinComputing, the ACM A.M. #TuringAward, #IMUAbacusMedal and the #NevanlinnaPrize. This week-long conference breaks all conventions and sets up a platform for learning via masterclasses and workshops, alongside other social events that allow for the exchange of scientific ideas amongst several generations!! I am beyond excited, and so grateful to have been selected to attend this year’s edition of HLF. This is truly a rare opportunity and I cannot wait to learn from such a diverse group of noble mathematicians and talented young researchers!! #Mathematics #ComputerScience #HeidelbergLaureateForum

Heidelberg Laureate Forum Foundation reposted this
A truly inspiring moment: meeting Vinton Gray Cerf, co-designer of the TCP/IP protocols and one of the “fathers of the Internet” last year during 11th Heidelberg Laureate Forum Foundation Cerf received the ACM A.M. Turing Award in 2004 "for pioneering work on internetworking, including the design and implementation of the Internet’s basic communications protocols, TCP/IP, and for inspired leadership in networking." It was an honor to meet with someone whose work has profoundly shaped the digital world we live in today.
